Dehradun, 18 May:
Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna laid foundation stones of development works sanctioned under NABARD worth more than Rs. 31 crore for Raipur areas in a pubic welcome program at Tunwala on Friday. Besides, he also laid foundation stones of three more projects of PWD and unveiled construction of Chuna Bhatta-Adhoiwala Road. Mr. Bahuguna also announced 39 development projects for Raipur area.
Chief Minister Bahuguna on the request of Raipur MLA Umesh Kumar 'Kau' assured him to approve construction of dam over River Song with the budget of Rs. 250 crore. MLA Kumar expressing his gratitude towards Chief Minister even declared to vacate his seat to make way for him for Assembly by-poll.
The development works under NABARD included modernization of Kalanga Canal, widening and strengthening of Miyawala Canal Road, Raipur Nathuwala Canal Road, Lower Nathuwala Road and Balawala Canal Road. The works to be undertaken by PWD included Khairi Mansingh, Do Nali Road, construction of road from Nehrugram Chowk to resident of Sati at Garhwali Colony and Badrish Colony Main Road.
Chief Minister Bahuguna said that the state government was committed to development and he would ensure comprehensive development works so that people regard the public representatives and party workers. Mr. Bahuguna said that government, under JNNURM, would develop Dehradun into a beautiful city. He revealed that various Projects were undertaken in this direction. He urged the people to keep eyes on the development works and contact him directly in case they find any irregularities in the works. He said that due to the mistakes of former government the development works had stalled in the state. Mr. Bahuguna said that all the hydro-power projects approved by the Central Government in which great amount of money had been spent, would be completed so that state's revenue increased.
Also present on the occasion were Irrigation Minister Yashpal Arya, MLA Nav Prabhat, President of Uttarakhand Cooperative Federation Pramod Kumar Singh, District Magistrate Ravinath Raman and CDO Sushil Kumar.
