Planning Commission has given extension of time for completion of “extension of kandi canal from Hoshiarpur to Balachaur Stage – II (Major Revised) of Punjab” with an estimated cost of Rs. 540.24 crore (2009 Price Level). The Government of Punjab had earlier requested for extension of one year’s time period for completion of aforesaid project without any increase in the cost of the project for which investment clearance was accorded.
The scheme will be executed as per the approved outlays in the State Plan and should be completed by 2012-13 and plan accounts would be closed on 31st March, 2013. The State Finance Department would restrict the expenditure to the approved cost and no additional expenditure beyond the approved cost may be permitted.
