New Delhi:(Page3 News Network)-The Delhi High Court has issued a notice to the TV Today group on the defamation suit filed by Law Minister Salman
Khurshid's wife Louise Khurshid. Summons have been issued to TV Today Chairman and MD Aroon Purie and 13 others.
Louise Khurshid, in her petition filed on Thursday, accused the TV network of maligning her family and has sought damages worth 1 crore rupees.
The TV Today group aired a sting operation claiming to show Salman Khurshid's trust for the disabled had forged signatures to acquire central grants.
TV Today now has been given 4 weeks' time to reply. The court has also asked Khurshid's lawyers to come up with specific allegations.
According to the TV Today report, the union social welfare and empowerment ministry had granted 71.50 lakh rupees to the Khurshids' Zakir Hussain Memorial Trust for distributing tricycles and hearing aids to the disabled in 17 districts of Uttar Pradesh.
The group, in a sting operation, said the NGO, forged signatures of senior officials in several districts of the state, to deprive the physically challenged who were eligible for grants under a scheme. While Salman Khurshid is the president of the Trust, his wife is the project director.
